This week was another busy one for us. Toni had another appointment for Emma and everything looked good. Emma's heart rate was 145 and everything on Toni's blood tests looked good. Toni has been doing well keeping the diabetes at bay so hopefully she won't need to get put on insulin again like she was with Caitlin. The Doctor also told Toni that unlike the last Doctor who induced labor for Caitlin at 38 weeks, she likes to wait until week 39. Depending on the day the Doctor is on call, it is now looking like Emma will be induced sometime after December 13th. That actually works out well for our time off so we'll see what happens. Of course, this is all written in sand right now and can and probably will change several times over the next 10 weeks! Today marks week 29! Toni stayed home from work sick today because of stomach cramps. She called the Doctor and they think it is "round ligament pain". For those who have no idea what that means, basically there is a ligament that holds the uterus inside the body and when the baby starts growing, the uterus gets bigger and heavier and the ligament is stretched. Toni stayed off her feet and rested and tonight is feeling better.
This weekend we went to Brownsville for a baby shower thrown by Toni's family. We had a nice visit and are very thankful to everyone for throwing the party and for coming out to help us celebrate. Caitlin had a lot of fun seeing everyone and especially had fun with her "Papa" (Grampa Andres). It was so cute to watch her talk to him and play with him. :)
We also had to take Caitlin to the Doctor last week for a bad cough. The Doctor thinks it was just a cold and no medicine was necessary. It seems to have cleared up on it's own which is great! :) The good news was that Caitlin's ear infections are completely gone and we no longer have to give her the medicine for them and we don't have to take her back in December for a follow up! :) Before the appointment, Caitlin had a lot of fun playing with the Pumpkin we put out front. She refers to it as "my pumpkin" and every time we get home she stops to touch it and look at it. She's been enjoying watching some of the Halloween cartoons we have. Her favorite so far is "It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown". :)
I'm going to keep this post short tonight. Again, I'd like to express our thanks to everyone for the baby shower and for taking the time to come out. We had a great time and appreciate all of you taking the time to help us celebrate our upcoming bundle of joy. :)
