Happy 5th birthday Caitlin!!!

Yesterday we celebrated Caitlin's 5th birthday with a party at Chuck-E-Cheese. Caitlin had a "Hello Kitty" themed birthday and seemed to have a lot of fun. She was really excited to play the games and pick out her prizes with her tickets. Emma for the most part enjoyed just riding the rides. We had a lot of fun and I still can't believe that she's already 5 years old! In 6 weeks she'll be going to Kindergarten! It's been a while since my last post so I'll try to catch everyone up. We took a mini vacation for the 4th of July to Brownsville. We had a nice visit and on the 4th we went on a boat ride around the port and watched the fireworks from the boat. It was really a nice, relaxing time. The boat had a pirate theme and the crew were dressed up as pirates and kept things entertaining. Caitlin won a "shake your booty" contest and all of the girls became honorary pirates. The view of the fireworks was great and it was a lot of fun. The next day we went to the beach. Caitlin had a lot of fun in the water for the most part but Emma wanted nothing to do with it. She wouldn't go anywhere near it! In other excitement, Emma fell into a rosebush while playing and scratched her stomach pretty bad. The drive to and from Brownsville wasn't too bad in the mini-van.

On Friday we stopped by the school for a birthday lunch with Caitlin and her class which was really nice. Emma got to come in from her class to help her sister celebrate. Caitlin has been moved out of the Pre-k2 class and is spending the rest of the summer in the Summer Camp room. She's getting to go on field trips to the movies and things like that so she's really enjoying it. After summer, this will be her permanent classroom after school. The day care will pick her up from school and she'll stay at the daycare until we pick her and Emma up.

In other news, Toni has been going to taekwondo classes for the last 5 weeks and just found out that she passed her test and is now a yellow belt! She's really enjoying it so hopefully she'll be able to keep up with it. I would like to look into it eventually but I hit my toe on the bed one night and am still having a lot of pain walking. I went to the Doctor and the xrays were negative so I need to just wait it out until it heals. Maybe then I can look into doing it with her. :-)
