Cousin Ryan!

This weekend we welcomed my Sister Sarah's 2nd child into the world! Ryan Girard was born a healthy 8lbs, 1 ounce on Saturday morning! We're both very happy for Sarah, Dan and Maddie for their newest addition to the Fogle household! It's really crazy how much things in life can change in such a short period of time. A little over 3 years ago we were welcoming Caitlin into the world and now we have Emma and 2 more cousins! It's amazing! We went Saturday afternoon to see Ryan and he's very cute and tiny! I know Emma is only 7 months old but I really don't remember her being that small! Caitlin enjoyed meeting cousin Ryan and thought he was "so cute" and told us that she thinks Aunt Sarah should keep him. :)

Other than Ryan, this week was actually pretty slow for us which was nice for a change. Toni's friend Sonia and her family stayed with us this weekend which was nice. Caitlin was shy around them at first but quickly came out of her shell. Monday morning I took Emma to her followup appointment and she got a clean bill of health. She's already tipping the scales at 21 lbs! Caitlin wanted to go to the Doctor with us and had fun helping me with Emma and telling the Doctor that Emma was feeling better. :) Emma's doing great and we think she's going to start crawling any day now. She's getting up on all fours and will rock back and forth. She's even able to crawl backwards so it shouldn't be much longer before she's crawling. :)

I'm going to keep this post short this week. Congratulations to the Fogle family!

What a week....

This week was pretty busy. Emma's had been coughing a lot at night so Toni took her to the Doctor and it turns out she has bronchilitis (Essentially bronchitis in a child under 2). The Doctor gave Emma some medicine and a breathing treatment machine. The first time Caitlin saw Emma wearing the breathing mask she said that Emma "looks like a monster". :) Besides the coughing though she's been in great spirits and seems like she's better now. I have to take her back for a follow up in the morning but I think she'll get a clean bill of health. It wasn't all bad news with the Doctor, Emma's ear infections are gone so at least the tubes seem to have taken care of that! :)

This weekend was also pretty busy. Yesterday I had a crown molding job. I did a library room and a column. It was a lot harder than I anticipated but I'm happy with how it came out. :) Next month I'll be doing the kitchen and living room of the same house which should be a pretty big job but I think the house is going to look nice when I'm done. While I was doing that, Toni and the girls spent some time with Nana Bev at the mall and going out for ice cream. It sounds like they had fun. :) Emma continues trying to move and has started proping herself up on her hands and knees trying to crawl and is even holding on to furniture and standing up for long periods of time. We still have to help her stand up but I think it won't be long before she's standing up on her own. Caitlin has several new imaginary friends including dinosaurs and dogs! It seems like they all of a sudden showed up in the middle of the week and she talks about bringing them inside when she gets home at night. It's very cute to listen to her. :)

Hopefully this week will be uneventful. I hope everyone has a great week!

Happy Birthday Caitlin!

This week Caitlin turned 3 years old! Time sure flies! Wednesday we went to a birthday party at Caitlin's school which was a lot of fun. We brought all of the kids lunch and party stuff. They seemed to have fun and Caitlin seemed to really enjoy it. She even wanted to call Nana Bev later that afternoon to thank her for coming to the party. :) I took Wednesday-Friday off work and on Thursday I took Caitlin in for her 3 year checkup. She did great and has grown quite a bit! Here's her numbers:

Weight
Birth - 8lbs, 11oz
1 year - 22lbs, 15oz
2 years - 28lbs
3 years - 36lbs

Height
Birth - 20.5 inches
1 year - 31.25 inches
2 years - 37 inches
3 years - 40 1/4 inches

She's doing great on her growth but she's in the 90th percentile for weight and off the charts for height. The Doctor doesn't see any problems and expects Caitlin's growth to continue to taper. She does want us to try to limit the ammount of juice Caitlin drinks to avoid the sugar so we'll probably start giving her water and if she wants, sugar free juice. She didn't get any shots so the visit was quick and painless. She was so grown up and followed the Nurses instructions when they were weighing and measuring her. She's growing up so fast!

Yesterday we had Caitlin's third birthday party here at the house and it was a lot of fun. The girls stayed with Nana Bev and Grampa Bob most of the day so that we could get the house ready. It came out nice and one of the parents from the school volunteered to make the cake which came out amazing! We had a good turnout and I think all of the kids really enjoyed themselves. Caitlin had a lot of fun playing with all of the kids outside and painting. She got a lot of great gifts that will surely keep her busy and was very thankful for the party. Emma seemed to have fun too but was super tired and went to sleep before it was over. :)

Emma's doing great and the girls are fun to watch together. Emma is even trying to immitate Caitlin now. We went to Lowe's this afternoon and Caitlin was "driving" the cart and Emma would watch what she was doing and then grab her steering wheel and start trying to drive too. It was cute to watch. :)

Thanks to everyone who was able to come by and join in Caitlin's birthday celebration! I can't believe how fast the time is going! This week I'll be heading back to work and will be on call. Hopefully it's an uneventful week.

7 months old!

Time sure is flying by! Yesterday Emma turned 7 months old! She's doing great and has become extremely vocal. She likes to babble and we're pretty sure she's going to get some teeth any day now because she is drooling like crazy! We're having to change her outfits several times a day because she's constantly soaked! She's also been chewing on her hands a lot so I think the teeth must be getting pretty close to the surface. She's trying to sit up on her own and crawl but so far she can only get into the push-up position and move around in circles on the floor. I think it'll be any day now and she'll be sitting up on her own and crawling around the house. :) She's doing really well since having the tubes put in and has shown no problems which we're both very happy about.

Caitlin is doing great and on Wednesday she'll turn 3! I seriously can't believe how fast the time has gone by! When we ask her how old she's going to be, she proudly tells us that she'll be three! The most amazing thing is how complicated her sentences are getting. She can string together long sentences and sounds so mature. The other night she said, "Daddy, can we go upstairs and get my blanket and then go watch TV?" I can't believe how much she's grown! It's amazing to watch her interact with Emma. She loves to give her a kiss and a hug every morning and every night before bed and one night after telling us how much she loved Emma, she asked if we could keep her. :)

This week will be a short week. I'm taking some time off this week for Caitlin's birthday and to get ready for her party here at the house. It should be a lot of fun and I'll post so pics from the party. :)

Tube time..

Happy 4th of July everyone! I'd especially like to thank all the men and women in uniform both past and present for your service. You make it all possible! We enjoyed our long weekend here at the house. I wish I could say we went out and did all kinds of stuff but for the most part we just stayed home and relaxed. This week was quite a busy one! On Monday we had the appointment with the ear specialist and he recommended having tubes put in Emma's ears. By Wednesday morning we were at the hospital for the procedure! It all happened so fast! We got to the hospital around 8:30 and they took Emma early around 10:00. The whole procedure lasted maybe 20 minutes and went well. We were both extremely nervous while sitting in the waiting room but luckily it went fast and before we knew it, we were in the recovery room with her. She did great and was extremely hungry and fussy after the procedure. Once she ate, she went to sleep and was released. We took her home and Toni stayed home with her for the rest of the day. We had ear drops that we had to give her for a few days and she really didn't have any side effects which was great! On Thursday both of the girls stayed with Nana Bev for the day and they seemed to have fun. Caitlin was very talkative about how much fun she had and didn't want to go home. :)

Overall, I can say that I'm more relieved than anything that the procedure is done. Hopefully Emma won't get anymore ear infections. We've got a follow up in 6 weeks but I think the worst of the ear infections are behind her. :) She's doing great so far and you wouldn't know she's had anything done. She's back to her old self laughing and smiling all the time. :)

This week should be pretty nice since it's a short week. We're starting to get prepared for Caitlin's 3rd birthday party the week after. I can't believe she's going to be 3 already! She's so grown up now!
