Not really digging 2020 so far..

This week was fairly uneventful. On Monday Toni and the girls were off school and work. The girls had appointments with the Orthodontist. Emma got her braces changed out and Caitlin had a consultation. She'll need braces as well as a 4 baby teeth pulled that are causing crowding. The teeth will be pulled during spring break after we get back from our mini vacation and then she'll get the braces put on early summer. After the orthodontist, Toni and the girls came and picked me up for lunch. We went to Olive Garden which was nice. After that, they went to Ingram Mall and found a cool store that sells stuff that is sold in Disney Parks. Unfortunately they have the Disney Parks prices but for some of the backpacks and stuff that otherwise isn't available outside the parks, it's a cool option to have so close. Unfortunately, the girls also discovered that our favorite Mediterranean restaurant in the mall has closed.. It really sucks because they had great food and any time we were in the area we always tried to stop by.

Toni also received her award from her company that she had won back in December. She was also added to a plaque for hitting 20 years of service with the company. I can't believe it's been 20 years!

In other news, I called the Dermatologist but they won't be able to remove the cyst on my back until Monday March 2nd.. I'm a little disappointed because I really wanted to get it removed sooner so I'll have more time to heal before our vacation but unfortunately it is what it is. I'm on a waiting list so if they have any cancellations next week, they'll call me and I'll go in earlier. We'll see what happens. I wasn't really feeling good again this week. My back started really hurting I think I pulled a muscle trying to remove a bandage from my cyst. Needless to say, I'm getting tired of not feeling great. Luckily my boss is very understanding and I was able to work from home and sit on a heating pad a couple of days which helped a lot. This week I'm on call so hopefully it's a quiet week.

Happy Valentine's Day!

This week was another busy week for us. The girls are doing great and got great marks on their report cards. They made the A/B Honor Roll! We're very proud of them and they are doing great in school! I've still been fighting a cold or something. I stayed home on Wednesday sick which obviously wasn't fun. Friday I went in for my first appointment with the therapist which went well. The cyst on my back has started draining which has been pretty gross. One day at work it burst which wasn't fun. Pretty much every day over the last 5 days I've had to deal with some major eruption from it. The swelling has gone down quite a bit but there's still a lot there that needs to come out. I'll probably call the Dermatologist tomorrow and schedule surgery for next Friday. I'm not looking forward to surgery but unfortunately it's something that I need to get done and at this point just want it over with.

Tomorrow Toni and the girls are off work and school. I sadly have to work but I'm happy for them. :) Emma has an orthodontist appointment and then Elsa has an appointment for shots. Hope everyone has a great week!

My 48th Birthday

Yesterday I celebrated my 48th birthday. Even seeing that number just sounds old.. We had a pretty good day but I haven't been feeling that great the last few days so we mostly just hung out around the house. Toni and the girls got me a nice sign that I'm going to hang in our theater room and also a Lemon Meringue pie for my birthday which was nice.

This week was busy as always. Monday I had jury duty which wasn't much fun. I got called back for interviews and luckily wasn't selected for the jury. While there we were given a 3 hour lunch which gave me a lot of time. I went to a Greek restaurant near the courthouse and had a really good lunch. On Wednesday I decided to see a specialist about my back. I went to a Dermatologist and she confirmed that the thing on my back is not an insect bite as the Doctor thought but rather a cyst. I have to give it a couple of weeks for the swelling to come down and then I'll be having it surgically removed. The worst part will be that I'll have stitches for about 2 weeks and during that time my mobility will be limited. I won't be able to lift more than 10 pounds which means Toni and the girls will have to help me when pulling orders for reselling since I won't be able to lift most of the bins that I have. I'm also worried that it's going to make driving and even working hard but we'll see how it goes.

This week I have an appointment with a therapist on Friday morning. As part of my resolution to start taking care of all things health related, I've decided to talk to a therapist about my anxiety issues. Hopefully she'll be able to help. Other than that, I'm hoping the week is quiet compared to the other weeks this year.

Heart Test Clear

This week was a busy one for sure. On Tuesday I was home sick. Feeling better now but I was really run down. On Wednesday Caitlin got sick at school and we kept her home on Thursday. Friday morning I went in to get the results of heart test and everything looks good. They found no problems so I have a clean bill of health. Unfortunately I've got a lump in my back that the Doctor thinks is from a bug bite. I've got some antibiotics but if it doesn't clear up in the next 10 days, I'll need to go in and have it surgically removed... Not looking forward to that but I'd rather just get it taken care of so I can get back to my normal routine. It's on my lower back so sitting hurts which makes working and driving painful. After I get that taken care of, I'm going to go back and get a checkup. I haven't had a blood test in a while and I'd like to see where things stand. I've always had a lot of problems with anxiety having blood drawn but it's time to start dealing with it. I'm not getting any younger after all..

After the Doctor, I spent a few hours at the DMV getting my drivers license renewed. Obviously that wasn't much fun but it only took about an hour and a half so it wasn't too bad. After that I went and had lunch with my dad and we went and looked at a car. I had been considering buying a 2020 Kia Soul since it would be cheaper and better on gas. Unfortunately, the dealership decided to play the usual car dealer games and offered me $4,000 less than what my truck is valued at. When I saw they were claiming $1700 in damage on the hood of my truck I walked out. I'm not sure if I'll try another dealership or not. Dealing with them ranks right up there with slamming my hand in a car door so I'm not in any hurry to deal with another one.

Tomorrow I have Jury Duty which I'm obviously not looking forward to. The rest of the week will be fairly busy at work and then Saturday is my 48th birthday! Not sure what we're doing yet but hopefully we can do something nice.
