Another busy week..

This was another week that was busy but not necessarily in a good way. Toni spent most of the week in Dallas for work and I stayed home with the kids. Last weekend I started getting what I thought was a burn on my tongue. Over the week it expanded and now covers a good portion of my tongue. It looks like the taste buds have peeled away. I also started getting canker sores on the area that was affected. On Tuesday I called the virtual doctor and I think that will be the last time I use them. They were wrong about my kidney stones and for this they listed off a bunch of bad stuff ranging from an infection, diabetes, thyroid issues and even covid! They gave me some lozenges which I've been using 5 times a day. My tongue seems to be doing better and healing up but I'm going to go to the dentist tomorrow and have him look at it. Hopefully it's nothing serious and will clear up soon. Also this week I went for my annual eye exam. Not much new to report there. Toni's trip went well and I'm glad she's home. In other news, this week I started getting serious about losing weight.  By the time I turn 50 in a little over a year, I want to be the healthiest I've ever been. I've been going out walking a lot and the weight is starting to come off. Today we all went over to the park and the girls played at the playground. It was very windy but fun. Hopefully this week will be a good one and I'll get some good news tomorrow at the dentist. Hope everyone has a great week!

A Rainy Week

This week was pretty quiet. The weather wasn't very good for most of the week so we mostly stayed home. Yesterday we went to Toni's Remax office and had breakfast together. Toni and the girls spent some time showing a property in the afternoon. Hopefully it'll lead to a commission for her. I spent the afternoon listing stuff on eBay. In the evening we went to the mall to look at an anime store that the girls wanted to look at. It was nice to get out for a bit. We wore our masks the whole time and thankfully it wasn't very crowded.

This coming week Toni will be in Dallas for work so I'll be home with the girls. I also have my annual eye appointment on Tuesday but other than that, I'm hoping the week Is slow.

Happy 75th Birthday Grampa Joe!

This week was overall pretty slow which was nice for a change. We still had a lot going on with work but that's just normal these days. I had to work on Saturday morning and Toni worked all weekend on Real Estate. This week we also celebrated Grampa Joe's 75th birthday! Happy Birthday!! Today we took down all of our Christmas decorations. This is always the saddest time of the year to me. I wish we could leave the stuff up all year. :) I'm going to keep this post short this week. Me and the girls are off work and school tomorrow which should be nice. I'm probably just going to list stuff on eBay and try to get a long walk in. I hope everyone has a great week!

2021 seems even weirder than 2020 so far..

Wow.. Just wow... I don't even know what to say at this point. 2021 is even weirder than 2020 so far. This week we saw an attempted coup in the United States.. A group of terrorists stormed the Capitol building and tried to stop the Electoral College validation of the election to name Joe Biden as the next president of the United States. So far, 5 people were killed (including a police officer) but the terrorists weren't successful in their efforts. I sincerely hope that every person responsible is caught and justice is served. I really can't believe that I have to talk my kids about domestic terrorists. Things in this country are a mess right now.. From the riots over the summer to the attempted overthrowing of the government, the violence in this country needs to stop. Meanwhile, covid is out of control and is actually getting worse. I hope that things start to turn around soon..

Besides domestic terrorists trying to overthrow our election, the week here at home was relatively quiet. The girls are back at school and we're getting back into our routine. Caitlin had a checkup at the Doctor and had to get a shot which she didn't like. Cousin Maddie also celebrated her birthday this week. We all had a FaceTime call with her and sent her a gift card. I'm going to keep the post short this week. I hope things start to get a little more normal soon..

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! This year started with me passing the 2nd kidney stone that I still had. I'm taking that as a good sign for 2021 and not a sign that things are going to be bad. It's with a certain degree of relief that I say that. Honestly, 2020 was one of the worst years I can remember and I'm cautiously optimistic that 2021 will be better. Looking back on the year, we had no shortage of problems. From heart issues for both me and Toni, large cysts and kidney stones, we had our challenges. In the world, we of course had covid to deal with which is still not under control. For this post though, I'd like to focus on the positives. This year I was able to start working from home and hopefully that'll stay as a permanent option. It was also nice having the girls doing school from home. We were able to spend a lot more time together as a family with not having to spend so much of our time driving to and from work and school. Because of working from home, we were also able to save a lot of money and as of today, we have 19 payments to go. We're hopeful that we may be able to pay off the house sometime before the end of this year. The other big news this year was that Toni passed her Real Estate exam and is now a licensed realtor! She's working for Remax and hopefully things will take off and she'll be able to start doing that full time.

This year, I hope to continue updating the blog every week. I've been trying to keep on a schedule and it's worked out pretty well. I also hope to continue working on my health and wealth and hopefully this will be a good year in both categories. I'm excited that 2021 is going to be a good year and I hope everyone has a great 2021!
