The math wall!

This week was a pretty slow week for us. The girls got their school pictures which was pretty cool. Nowadays you get to choose the background that they'll digitally put behind them. Caitlin and Emma picked theirs out which I think look pretty good. Emma also got her name up on the math wall at school which is really cool. We went to the school one night during the week and got to see it. :) On Saturday the girls had a sleepover at Nana's house. They had a good time. Toni and I went out to dinner and then watched a movie. We watched Kingsman. It wasn't very good. :( But we did go to a place called Orange Leaf that has pineapple soft serve that tastes exactly like Dole Whip at Disneyworld so we'll be going back there more often.  :)

Spring break!

Last week was Spring Break and I had Thursday and Friday off with the girls which was nice. Thursday we went to breakfast and then went to the playground so the kids could play for a bit. After that we went to Toys R Us so the girls could look around before it closes forever. Of all of the store closings over the last 15 years, this one actually makes me sad. It’s like a part of my childhood that I wanted to share with my kids is going away. We bought some board games that were on sale and we had a lot of fun playing “Othello” together. Both of the girls caught on really quick. Friday we went to breakfast again and went to some garage sales. We had fun just hanging out. Saturday we watched Jumanji Welcome To The Jungle which we all really enjoyed. Yesterday we went to breakfast and then just hung out at home. I did a lot of listing for reselling and mostly just relaxed.

Field trips

This week the girls had field trips at school. They went to Enchanted Spring Ranch. This week they are on Spring Break. I have Thursday and Friday off so we'll get to hang out at the end of the week. We also have a couple of appointments on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon this week that I'll be picking them up early for. Overall, last week was pretty quiet. Emma drew a picture of Disneyworld that I thought looked really good (first picture). This weekend we just hung out and didn't do too much. I went to garage sales with Emma with was fun. Got quite a bit to resell, now I just have to find the time to list it. :) Caitlin went to Mathnasium for her math tutoring on Saturday morning. She seems to be enjoying that place so hopefully it'll help her with her math. Other than that, the only other thing we did was went to Toys R Us. I've been reading in the news that they are going bankrupt so I wanted to take the girls one last time. A lot of stores from my childhood and teen years have closed down over the last 15 years or so but as strange as it may sound, Toys R Us closing really kind of bums me out. I have a lot of memories of going there as a kid and I really enjoyed taking the girls there. We had a good time and got a couple of board games for family game night at least.

Back to the grind...

Not a lot to report over the last couple of weeks. The weather hasn’t been the greatest so we really haven’t been doing much. I did manage to check one long time goal from my list of things I’d like to do though. I’ve been wanting to do a movie review on Youtube so after the trip to Disneyworld, I decided to do one on the original silent version of Snow White from 1916 that Walt Disney saw when he was a teenager. I’d like to do some more reviews but we’ll see how it goes. It’s a nice break from the constant grind of my job and reselling. I’ve been really wanting to find something else to change the pace a bit. If you’re interested in checking it out, you can see it here:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A3ZQsvh1-i4&t=31s

This week we have the parent/teacher conferences for Emma and Caitlin and then the following week is Spring Break. I’m off Thursday and Friday of that week and we also have appointments on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon so it should be a short week.
