Snow for Emma's birthday!

This was quite an exciting week! This week we saw snow for the first time since right after Emma was born! It was actually a good amount of snow and it actually stuck. Caitlin called me from school very excited because the snow was falling so I drove over to the school to join them for Literacy Night. The snow was coming down very hard and it was crazy to see. I haven't seen snow like that in over 30 years. There were a few snowmen built in our neighborhood which was really cool to see. Emma has been saying for a while now that she wanted to see snow for her birthday so this worked out perfectly! Maybe next year we'll take a trip somewhere where we can see snow. :)

Yesterday we celebrated Emma's 7th birthday! On Saturday we took her to Peter Piper Pizza for a small party. She enjoyed herself a lot and had fun playing the arcade games. Yesterday we took her to breakfast at the Geunther House because she wanted to see it decorated for Christmas. It was very pretty and we had a great breakfast. After breakfast we went to the mall to see Santa! This year Caitlin was brave and our pictures aren't of her fighting Santa away! :)

We're also officially ready to go to Disneyworld next month! We've got everything paid and the countdown has started!

Happy Thanksgiving!

The last couple of weeks have been pretty busy. Last week we went to Brownsville for Thanksgiving which was fun. We took the new truck which was a lot more comfortable for the long trip than my old truck was. We had a good Thanksgiving and a nice visit. One night I had a bad headache so stayed at the house while Toni and the girls went to a Christmas Village in Brownsville. They had a really good time and next year I definitely want to go. For Black Friday/Cyber Monday we made a few purchases, most notably the Amazon Echo. It’s pretty cool so far and as I get more of the stuff that came with it (Smart bulbs/Outlets) hooked up it’s becoming more useful. Before we left for Brownsville, we finished the Lego Disney Castle which is really nice. We’re planning on putting it in the home theater room for display.

This weekend the girls went and helped Nana get her house decorated and then we put up our tree. It came out really nice. We're also trying to watch a Christmas movie or show every night. So far we've watched A Charlie Brown Christmas and Miracle on 34th Street.
