RSV...

Last week was quite a week! Emma started having symptoms of what appeared to be a cold so on Wednesday I took her to the Doctor and they found that the tube in her right ear had fallen out and she had an ear infection. Since she already has a follow up scheduled on February 7th with the ear specialist, the Doctor prescribed some antibiotics. She seemed to be doing alright so the next morning we took her to school. After a few hours, the school called and said that Emma was wheezing and seemed to be breathing in short, quick breaths. Toni picked her up and took her back to the Doctor. This time it was found that she had RSV (a respiratory infection). Toni stayed home with her on Thursday and Friday and on Friday took her back to the Doctor and they put Emma on a nebulizer breathing treatment and gave her a shot. The weekend we had to give her the breathing treatments every 3 hours which was tiring but they seemed to help. Yesterday I took her back to the Doctor and she looks a lot better. The ear infection has started to clear up and her breathing is returning to normal. Thankfully it seems like she's over the worst of it.

The only other news was that Caitlin learned how to pedal her tricycle uphill! She's always been able to go on flat surfaces but this weekend I was able to teach her how to pedal uphill! She was so proud of herself and we went and got the mail twice just so she could practice some more. :)
