What a week this turned out to be! I'm not really sure where to start so let me start with the bad and work on to the good. Thursday morning we ended up having quite a scare. While Toni was at work she started spotting (bleeding). Needless to say, it's not something you want to have happen during pregnancy. Toni promptly called the Doctor and was told to continue monitoring the situation and if she started cramping or continued bleeding more, she needed to get in immediately. Luckily there was no more bleeding that day and there hasn't been any since. It was a very worrisome day for both of us and luckily everything seems to be going good. Toni has an appointment on Friday scheduled already so we'll be sure to talk to the Doctor more in depth then. After doing some research we found that as many as 30% of women experience bleeding at some point during their pregnancy and usually it's not anything serious. We're keeping our fingers crossed.
In good news this week, Caitlin continued maturing and this week added more words to her vocabulary - "Go away", and "Mickey Mouse". She's been saying "Mickey" for a while now but she's starting adding "Mouse" to the end now. On Friday night we also went to Nana Bev's house and when we got out of the car, I told Caitlin to go knock on the door. She walked to the front door by herself and started knocking on the door! It was so cute to watch her. She's growing up so fast! Today actually marks 23 months old for her! I can't believe than in only a month she's going to be 2 years old!
This weekend we went to a party for our friends Mark and Mary. They were celebrating their 20 year wedding anniversary and the birth of their first grandchild! We had a lot of fun and Caitlin seemed to love being outside. We took her to the pool and were sitting in the shallow end with our feet in the water. Almost immediately Caitlin decided she didn't want to sit on the edge and would rather swim like the other kids so she lunged face first into the water. Luckily we were sitting next to her and were able to pull her out quickly. I think she was surprised by the whole thing and after that, she was much more careful around the water. The times she did come near the edge, she would sit down at least a foot away and start scooting over to the edge. She also had a log of fun playing around the inflatable slip-and-slide that they had for the kids. She never actually got on it but enjoyed watching the older kids and walking along the side playing in the water that was spraying off of it. Overall, we had a really nice day and it was a nice way to end the week. Today also marks the last day of week 13 so tomorrow marks the start of week 14 and more importantly, the official start of the 2nd trimester!
