This week Caitlin did pretty well. She started early in the week when we got home one night by walking into the pantry, picking up a single serve container of applesauce and walking over to the table to eat. After I opened it for her she proceeded to use a spoon and eat all on her own. While she's eaten with a spoon in the past, this time was a little different because she was so neat about it. She didn't drop too much of it and the whole incident was cute to watch. She's growing up so fast! Another night she was sitting on the kitchen island helping Toni put food on the plates and she took one of the large spoons and started using that to eat with. :) Not too long ago Caitlin using a spoon equaled quite a mess. Needless to say, her skills with a spoon are greatly improving. She's also getting better drinking from a glass. We've started giving her small glasses of water and she's done really well drinking from it and not spilling any. Continuing on the eating front, Caitlin also had her first ice cream cone yesterday! After the initial first bite, she really enjoyed it. She looked so grown up eating it. :)
This week also marked a first for Caitlin - for the first time she said 2 words like she was trying to form a sentence! She said "more please" this week when she wanted more to eat. :) She has said both words separately before but it was so cool to hear her start to put words together. I don't think it'll be long before she's saying sentences. She understands a lot and it's gotten a lot easier to understand what she wants. This week Caitlin also started trying to jump! She goes through the motions like she's trying to jump but has yet to actually leave the ground. :) She also found a new show that she really enjoys - The Simpsons! The other cool thing this week was when I picked her up from daycare. Every night when she'd see me her face would light up and she'd come running over and give me a big hug and a kiss! :) It really is the highpoint of my day getting to see her face light up. :)
This weekend we didn't do too much. I was on call and will continue to be for the rest of this week. Hopefully it'll be uneventful and go quickly. :)
