Hello everyone! Today Toni and I stayed home with Caitlin to celebrate my 38th birthday. We were planning on going to the Zoo but the weather had other plans. We had a good day just hanging out together. This week was pretty busy for us. Caitlin continues to try to say words and this week she continued saying "please" and now knows that when she asks for something she has to say it. :) Her other favorite word this week was "Mickey". She would point at Mickey Mouse every time he was on the screen when watching Mickey's Playhouse and was even going through the DVD shelf and found Fantasia and brought it to us and started pointing at it and saying "Mickey". It's funny that she knows Mickey by name when her favorite show is clearly still Fraggle Rock. I got some great movies of her dancing when she heard the theme music. In one of them she's standing when it comes on and she started spinning around clapping. After a few turns it seemed like she lost her balance but she still kept clapping. :) This week she also started saying "owie". Whenever she takes a bath now she'll get out of the bath and point to her wrinkled fingers and keep saying "owie". When we ask her if it hurts she says, "yeah". It's so funny to listen to her talk to us. :) She's also progressing with potty training. Several times this week she'll come to one of us and start pulling us by the hand saying "pee-pee". We'll then take her to the potty and she'll sit for a few minutes, wipe herself, throw the toilet paper in the toilet and then get up and flush the toilet! She still hasn't used the toilet but it seems like she knows that she just went to the bathroom when she comes and gets us and she knows what to do once she's there. I think the potty training is going pretty well so far and I'm sure it won't be long before she gets it. :) This week to help with potty training we also moved away from diapers and into pull-ups. The biggest problem we seem to have with them is that Caitlin doesn't like us putting them on and since she has to put her feet through the openings, she seems to fight us a lot more than she did with regular diapers. Hopefully she'll start cooperating with us more soon. :)
The other big news this week was that yesterday Uncle Dan and Aunt Sarah brought Cousin Madelyn over to watch the Super Bowl with us! :) It was so cute to watch Caitlin interact with Madelyn. She wanted to help Toni hold her and feed her! It was incredible to watch her. :) It was a nice visit and we're told that it was the first time Madelyn slept all day! :)
This week should be really cold but hopefully it'll go by fairly quickly. I hope everyone has a great week!
