This weekend we celebrated Caitlin's first birthday! Sometimes it seems impossible that she could already be 1 year old and other times, it doesn't seem possible that she's ONLY 1 year old! We'd like to thank everyone who dropped by or sent their birthday wishes. Tomorrow (Monday the 13th) Caitlin will officially turn 1 but I think she enjoyed her early party for the most part. I say for the most part because by the end, she was starting to get a little cranky! As you can see in the picture of her with her cake, we didn't even get to put a birthday hat on her because she didn't want to sit in her chair! She got lots of great gifts though and has so far played with them all at least once. Thank you everyone! Today we decided to take Caitlin to the Zoo in the morning and she seemed to enjoy that quite a bit. When we took her on Mother's day she was still a little young and not really interested. Today however, she couldn't get enough! She loved watching the monkeys and started pointing at them and laughing and smiling. Any time they would move from branch to branch she would follow them with her eyes and continue pointing and smiling! She also enjoyed seeing the frogs that were on display. There was one that was orange that was climbing the glass and Caitlin started touching the glass where it was and laughing. She also enjoyed the squirrels and some of the birds and fish that we saw too. We only spent an hour or so at the zoo because it started getting really hot and went to lunch for Greek food which Caitlin seemed to enjoy. She liked the gyro's and the chicken. :)
Tomorrow Caitlin has a Dr's appointment and I will update more then with her stats for the year. She's doing great with her walking and now seems pretty confident walking around. At the Zoo today they had an indoor play area and she had no problems walking around and playing with the other kids. :)
Looking back over her first year, all I can say is, "wow!" While sometimes it seems like it went by quick, there are other times that it seems like she should be at least 2 years old by now! Her first year has been filled with moments that we will remember forever - the first time we held her, the first time she smiled at us, first time she sat up, stood up, walked, first tooth, crawling and rolling over just to name a few. It has been the most incredible thing we have ever seen. Her smile and laugh can make me forget any problem I'm having and her joy in even the simplest things can put a smile on my face. :) Life is good.

Caitlin was a doll at the party. She was so good even when you could tell she was getting tired. With only grandsons around, it was nice to see all those little girl clothes and toys. All the Winnie the Pooh docorations were just adorable and the cake was decorated to look like the "Hundred Acre Wood". David and Toni did a great job. Thanks for inviting me! Karen L
