A prisoner in my own home!

This week was another busy week for us. To start, Caitlin spent most of her time this week in with the 1 year olds. She seemed okay with it and seemed to enjoy watching the new kids. As the weeks go on, she will be spending more of her time in the 1 year olds room and very soon will be there exclusively. She's really trying to walk a lot more now. She's to the point now where she will walk next to us and will only hold on to us with one hand. She's also walking a lot further and for a lot longer so she's definitely getting stronger. She keeps trying to walk on her own but she's still more falling forward than walking when she tries. :)
This week Caitlin also learned how to "high five". If we hold our hand up in front of her and say, "high five", she will actually give us a high five and smile and start laughing. Among other words she definitely recognizes now are, "come here", "hello", "food", "bye-bye", and "drink your milk". :)
This week wasn't all fun and games though. Friday Toni and Caitlin both got sick. Caitlin ended up going to the Pediatrician where we were told that she has another ear infection and is tipping the scales at 22lbs, 15oz! That brings her weight gain up to 14lbs, 4oz since she was born! Unfortunately though, she seems to have inherited my sinuses.. :( While the ear infections and sinus problems are no fun for her, luckily they aren't serious enough to warrant a visit to a specialist yet. While seeing the Doctor she also showed off for the doctor by walking behind a toy in the room. The doctor was very impressed that she's already walking as well as she is.
Because she's so mobile lately, we went and got a baby gate for the upstairs. In the picture above she's trying to figure out what it is. :) We haven't gotten one for the downstairs yet but I'm thinking about making one on my own. Luckily there's no rush because we are rarely downstairs but neither Toni or I are impressed with the aesthetics of the gate and we both think I can make something nicer. It all depends on how much free time I can find. :)
Hopefully this week Caitlin and Toni will both be feeling better. We hope everyone has a great week!
