This week Caitlin turned 9 months old! To celebrate she once again had a trip to the Doctor for a checkup. She only got one shot this time and everything looked great. Her growth has started to taper off and while she is in the 84th percentile for her weight, she's still in the 95th percentile for height! The tapering off is a totally normal change and it was expected that at some point her growth would slow down. Here's a comparison of where she is today as compared to when she was born:Height:
Birth - 20.5 Inches
Today - 29.25 Inches
That's a gain of 44% and 8.75 inches overall!
Weight:
Birth - 8lbs, 11oz
Today - 21lbs, 1oz
That's a gain of 142% in weight and 12lbs, 6ounces!
As you can see from the numbers, our little girl's not so little anymore! This week she started standing up in her crib waiting for us to come get her in the morning. Luckily we had already lowered the mattress to the lowest setting so she won't fall out. :) Other than that, this week was fairly quiet. Toni and Caitlin got back from Brownsville on Monday and on Monday and Tuesday they both came to have lunch with me. It was nice to be able to spend that time with them both. :)
The only other thing to report this week is that Caitlin has started "talking" quite a bit! She'll start babbling to herself for long periods and loves to laugh! Most of the time if she's not talking, she's either got her tongue out of the side of her mouth like she's really concentrating hard about something or smiling and laughing. It's cool just to listen to her go on and on. :)
I'm going to keep the post short today. I hope everyone has a great week!
