This week Caitlin spent most of her days playing with her friend Brooke at daycare. She is fascinated with everything around her and tries to touch, grab or eat pretty much everything she sees now. Tonight she actually rolled herself a couple of feet across the floor to get to her laptop so she could play with it! Also this week she held her bottle by herself for the first time and even held my bottle of water and put it in her mouth to try to take a drink. She's definitely developed a curiosity about everything around her.On Monday we took Caitlin to the Doctor after our Dentist appointments and everything checked out okay. She was tipping the scales at 20 pounds, 4 ounces which is pretty big for her age. Even though she's 7 months old, she's already wearing 12 month clothes! The Doctor couldn't find anything wrong and Caitlin's cough had already cleared up so that was a good thing. She also said Caitlin is doing great and is a very happy baby. :-) She has moved on to phase 2 foods which don't look much different from phase 1 to me but she seems to be enjoying them. She's eating everything from green beans, peas, carrots, squash, bananas, mango, applesauce, etc.. She seems not to like the new flavors the first time but after the first serving she seems to enjoy it more. We got her some apple flavored snacks which are about the size of a small piece of cereal and dissolve pretty much instantly. She didn't really seem to enjoy it and was more interested in the lid to the container. If you click on the bottom picture, you can see Caitlin's first tooth! It's pretty much out now and the 2nd one is just about ready to come out.
On Friday night, Caitlin got to spend some time with the girls. Toni's friend Sonia and her family were in town from Brownsville so Toni and Caitlin spent a couple hours with Sonia and her daughter Llanellie. Today she also got to see her Aunt, Uncle and cousins from Corpus Christi who were in town visiting. I think Caitlin enjoyed seeing everyone and had a good time.
In other news, we got some great news this week - my sister Sarah and her boyfriend Dan announced their engagement this week! The date is still to be determined but it's definitely great news and we're all very happy for them and wish them many years of happiness together.
This week should go pretty fast. This will be my last week at Wachovia. I think tomorrow we're going to have a farewell get together after work. Hopefully this will be the last job change I'll have to make for a good long while! :)
