Of all of the long sentences Caitlin could have said, her longest by far happened this afternoon and was the title for this post! Yes, seemingly out of nowhere, Caitlin started telling us quite clearly that "Cookie Monster Ate the cookie upstairs". We're not sure where this sentence came from but it was funny to listen to her repeat it over and over. She's talking quite a bit and seems to understand just about everything we say. I was relaxing upstairs watching Terminator 3 and when Caitlin heard the noise from downstairs, she came running and wanted to sit and watch it with me. She seemed to enjoy all the action and was clapping every time it got loud. It was nice bonding time. :)
This week was pretty busy. I was on call all week and went in to work for about 5 hours this morning. Overall the on call week wasn't too bad but I'm definitely glad it's over for another month. :) On Thursday, Caitlin got to spend some time with Nana Bev at school. The school had a "Snack time with Grandparents" to celebrate Grandparent's day. Caitlin made a nice card and seemed to enjoy her visit from Nana at school. Nana came over on Wednesday night and Caitlin really seemed to enjoy hanging out and showing her Emma's room and her swing set.
The other news this week was concerning Caitlin's bug bites. Caitlin got bit by what I think was a fire ant on her hand. As you can see from the picture, it got pretty swollen but she didn't seem too bothered by it. We monitored her temperature to make sure she didn't get a fever and talked to the pharmacist who gave us Benadryl cream which seemed to help. Tonight her hand is pretty much back to normal.
Hopefully this week will be quiet. I'm waiting for the rain to stop so I can mow the lawn one night this week and other than that, hopefully can find time to continue cleaning the house and getting ready for an eventual yard sale. Toni has another appointment for Emma on Tuesday which will be a quick check on Emma and Toni's sugar levels. So far Toni's been able to take care of her sugar levels without medicine so we're hopefull that she won't have to go on insulin but we'll see what happens. I hope everyone has a great week!
